Flowering Pear Tree

Pyrus calleryana, commonly known as the Callery pear, is a deciduous tree native to East Asia. It is characterized by a dense, pyramidal to rounded growth habit and glossy, dark green foliage that turns vibrant shades of red, purple, and orange in autumn. In early spring, it produces an abundance of white flowers, though they are known for a distinct, unpleasant odor. While valued for its rapid growth and urban tolerance, it is increasingly recognized as an invasive species in North America.
