About Roughleaf dogwood

Cornus drummondii, or roughleaf dogwood, is a deciduous large shrub or small tree reaching heights of fifteen to twenty-five feet. It features a spreading growth habit and frequently forms dense thickets, making it excellent for erosion control and wildlife cover. The olive-green foliage is uniquely rough to the touch and turns a striking purplish-red in autumn. Highly adaptable, it thrives in full sun to shade and tolerates various soil types, including dry or moist alkaline soils.
