About Rock Cotoneaster

Cotoneaster horizontalis is a dense, slow-growing deciduous shrub renowned for its distinctive horizontal, tiered branching that resembles a fishbone pattern. It typically reaches 2 to 3 feet in height while spreading up to 8 feet wide, making it an excellent choice for groundcover, erosion control on slopes, or cascading over stone walls. Its small, glossy green leaves turn a brilliant reddish-purple in autumn, complemented by tiny pink flowers in spring and showy scarlet berries in fall.
