About Bush poppy

Dendromecon rigida, also called bush poppy or tree poppy, is a shrub or small tree of the Papaveraceae native to California and Baja California. It is a small perennial shrub, rarely exceeding 3 metres tall, with alternate, narrow lanceolate leaves that are leathery and finely toothed. The plant is evergreen and produces solitary, terminal flowers with four satiny yellow petals from late winter to mid-spring. It prefers fast-draining, rocky soils and full sun, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping and fire-resistant landscaping.
