About Meadow Sage

Salvia pratensis, known as Meadow Sage, is a hardy herbaceous perennial that forms attractive basal clumps of wrinkled, green foliage. In late spring and summer, it produces upright, square stems topped with long spikes of hooded, violet-blue flowers that are a magnet for bees and butterflies. This versatile plant prefers well-drained soil and full sun but can tolerate light shade. It is excellent for wildflower meadows, cottage gardens, and borders, offering great deer resistance.
