Osakazuki Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum ‘Osakazuki’ is a rounded, deciduous Japanese maple whose green, seven-lobed leaves turn orange-scarlet in autumn. Its broad crown works well as a specimen in a sheltered garden where the fall display can be seen against evergreen planting or a simple background. ## Foliage and size The foliage is the main landscape feature. RHS lists mature height and spread of 8–13 ft, typically reached over 10–20 years. The existing height value exceeded the cultivar-specific RHS range, so it is left unresolved rather than replaced with an invented point estimate. ## Siting and soil Grow in full sun or partial shade, with shelter from drying winds. Moist, well-drained soil is preferred; RHS lists acid or neutral pH. In hotter or exposed settings, partial shade and adequate soil moisture help reduce leaf scorch.
