Tamukeyama Japanese Maple Tree

‘Tamukeyama’ is a long-established Japanese maple selected for its cascading outline and finely divided foliage. Its leaves emerge purple-burgundy, shift toward greenish purple in summer, and brighten to orange-red in autumn. ## Landscape use and seasonal interest Use this small tree as a specimen where its layered branches can spread, or in a sheltered courtyard or large container. Protect from drying conditions and keep moisture reasonably even, especially while establishing. RHS lists chalk, clay, loam, and sand where drainage is suitable. ## Maintenance Water during dry periods, particularly during establishment. Avoid unnecessary hard pruning; preserve the cascading branch structure with selective corrective pruning when needed.
