This deciduous tree features a compact, upright growth habit, reaching 12 to 15 feet at maturity. Its multi-lobed leaves emerge a brilliant carmine-red in spring, transitioning to chartreuse and gold in summer before turning showy shades of orange and red in autumn. Unlike many other shirasawanum varieties, it is notably heat and sun tolerant. Ideal as a specimen or border plant, it thrives in well-drained, slightly acidic soil and attracts beneficial birds and insects.
