Achillea ‘Sassy Summer Taffy’ is an upright, summer-blooming yarrow with dense flower heads that open dark salmon pink and soften to peachy pink as they age. Walters Gardens lists it at about 26–32 inches tall and 22–26 inches wide, with green, finely divided foliage.
## Landscape Use
The sturdy stems and flat flower clusters suit sunny perennial borders, mass plantings, and cutting gardens. The flowers also draw bees and butterflies. Walters Gardens lists the cultivar in its Sassy Summer collection and identifies US Plant Patent PP31,755, issued May 12, 2020; that grant date describes the patent record and does not establish its present legal status. ## Seasonal Interest
Flowering is concentrated in summer. The patent abstract describes flowering from mid-June for about six weeks, while its detailed botanical description records about four weeks beginning in late June. The aged blooms can be left to dry for seed-head interest, or removed to encourage a possible later flush. A North Carolina State University arboretum entry independently records a 32-by-26-inch plant and hardiness to Zone 3, consistent with the breeder’s size and lower-zone information. ## Siting and Soil
Give it full sun and well-drained soil. Walters Gardens notes that it handles average to poor soil and is drought tolerant once established; avoid overly rich conditions, which can make stems floppy. Its listed hardiness range is USDA Zones 3–8.
## Maintenance
After the first flowers fade, cut the plant back by about half if you want to encourage a second bloom. Remove spent flower heads when a tidier appearance is preferred.
