About Everglades Palm

Acoelorrhaphe wrightii, commonly known as the Paurotis palm, is a striking clumping palm native to the Everglades and Caribbean. It features slender, fibrous trunks topped with vibrant green, fan-shaped leaves that have silvery undersides. This slow-growing species thrives in moist to wet, slightly acidic soils and is highly tolerant of flooding and salt. Its multi-stemmed habit creates a dense, tropical screen, making it an excellent choice for privacy or as a dramatic specimen.
