Aconitum carmichaelii 'Royal Flush' is a striking, erect, clump-forming perennial that provides exceptional late-season interest. It is distinguished by its leathery, lobed foliage that emerges with a vibrant bronze-red hue in spring before maturing to a glossy deep green. In late summer and autumn, strong maroon stems support dense, vertical spikes of hooded, deep indigo-blue flowers. This variety thrives in cool, moist, fertile soils and is highly resistant to deer and rabbits. Note that all parts of the plant are extremely toxic.
