Create design onlineAbout Agapanthus Ever Sapphire™
Ever Sapphire™ is a compact, evergreen Agapanthus with repeated clusters of bright blue flowers. [Southern Living Plants](https://southernlivingplants.com/the-collection/plant/ever-sapphire-agapanthus/) identifies its patented cultivar as ‘ANDBIN’ (PP26,336); the selection is sized for containers, edging, and the front of warm-climate borders. The U.S. patent [USPP26336](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP26336) confirms the cultivar denomination and was granted on January 19, 2016.
## Form and flowering
The breeder lists mature dimensions of 20–24 inches tall by 12–18 inches wide, with flowering from spring into fall. The rounded flower clusters rise above a clump of strap-shaped leaves. The breeder markets it as evergreen, reblooming, and useful for cut flowers; the patent describes foliage as semi-deciduous depending on climate, so leaf retention can vary.
## Site and soil
Grow in full sun or partial shade; in hot regions, some afternoon shade can help. [University of Florida IFAS](https://ask.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/FP018) notes Agapanthus flowers best with several hours of direct sun, while [University of North Florida Botanical Garden](https://www.unf.edu/botanical-garden/plants/agapanthus-hybrid.html) recommends well-drained soil and reports drought tolerance once established. Avoid persistent wetness or excess fertilizer. New plants need regular watering while roots settle in. The breeder rates Ever Sapphire for USDA zones 8–11; containers make it easier to protect in colder conditions.
## Maintenance
Remove faded flower stalks to keep the clump tidy and support repeat bloom. Water during prolonged dry spells, especially while actively growing, and keep container drainage open. In climates colder than its listed range, move potted plants to a sheltered, frost-protected place.
