About Agapanthus Little Blue Fountain™

Little Blue Fountain™ is the compact agapanthus cultivar ‘Brilliant Blue’ (PP25966), with upright clusters of deep blue flowers marked by darker centers. Its evergreen foliage suits borders and containers, while flower stems can be cut for arrangements. ## Garden use The [Sunset Plant Collection profile](https://sunsetplantcollection.com/the-collection/plant/little-blue-fountain/) lists the cultivar for accents, borders, containers and cut flowers. Its blue umbels provide a summer focal point and may rebloom; clumping leaves remain through the year in mild climates. ## Growing conditions Grow in full sun or part shade, especially some afternoon shade in hotter climates, and provide well-drained soil. The collection lists USDA zones 8b–10 and low water after establishment. It gives broad plant dimensions of 1–2 feet high and wide. The [patent record](https://patents.justia.com/patent/PP25966) separately reports averages from a three-year-old outdoor trial plant, so those specimen measurements should not be treated as a general mature-size specification. ## Maintenance Remove old flower stalks after flowering. The collection recommends dividing crowded clumps about every five to six years. Keep new plantings watered while roots establish, then reduce irrigation where rainfall and soil drainage permit.
