Create design onlineAbout Agapanthus Ever Twilight™
Ever Twilight™ is the compact Agapanthus hybrid ‘MDB001’, with rounded heads of pendulous white and violet-blue flowers above short, broad leaves. Sunset lists the plant as evergreen, while the plant patent notes that foliage may be semi-deciduous depending on climate. It suits small borders and containers, and its cut stems add a strong vertical accent; the breeder profile lists it for USDA zones 8B–11.
## Garden use and form
The Sunset Plant Collection gives mature dimensions of about 16–18 inches tall and wide and describes flowering from spring into summer, with bloom stalks extending the display later in the season. The flowers are bicolored rather than solid blue. U.S. Plant Patent PP30162, granted January 29, 2019, identifies ‘MDB001’ and describes its compact habit and pendulous bicolored blooms. The trade name Ever Twilight™ is linked to this cultivar.
## Growing conditions
Give it sun, with part shade in hotter climates, and sharply drained soil. Water regularly while it establishes; the collection profile recommends low water after establishment. Where winters fall below its listed hardiness, grow it in a container that can be protected.
## Maintenance
Remove old flower stalks after flowering. Divide crowded clumps about every five to six years, and keep the crown in well-drained soil.
