Create design onlineAbout Agapanthus Ever White™
Ever White™ is a semi-dwarf Agapanthus hybrid with repeated clusters of brilliant white flowers above evergreen, strap-shaped leaves. [Southern Living Plants](https://southernlivingplants.com/the-collection/plant/ever-white-agapanthus/) identifies the protected cultivar as ‘WP001’ (U.S. plant patent PP27,357), selected for an early, extended flowering season and a compact landscape size. The patent [USPP27357](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP27357P2/en) confirms the denomination and a grant date of November 8, 2016.
## Form and flowering
The breeder lists mature dimensions of 18–20 inches high by 12–18 inches wide, with flowers from summer into fall. Southern Living markets Ever White as evergreen, while its patent describes it as semi-deciduous depending on climate; winter leaf retention can vary. Its dense white umbels suit a sunny border, patio container, or cut-flower planting. The patent describes repeat flowering and a small-to-medium habit; its July–December bloom report is from South African conditions and is not a North American calendar.
## Site and soil
Use full sun or partial shade and fertile, well-drained soil. [University of Florida IFAS](https://ask.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/FP018) notes Agapanthus flowers best with several hours of direct sun, although some afternoon shade can help in hot climates. Keep soil from staying waterlogged. Southern Living describes Ever White as drought tolerant; water new plants regularly while roots establish. The breeder rates it for USDA zones 8–11, so container growing can help protect it where winters are colder.
## Maintenance
Remove spent flower stalks to keep the clump neat and encourage repeat bloom. Established plants need modest watering, with extra water during prolonged dry spells. Containers should drain freely and may need shelter from frost in colder regions. [RHS guidance](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/agapanthus/growing-guide) recommends winter protection for potted plants.
