About Peachie Keen Hyssop

Agastache ‘Peachie Keen’ forms a dense, rounded mound of aromatic bright-green foliage topped with apricot-peach flowers and contrasting purple-pink calyxes that hold color after flowering, keeping the plant showy into fall. Walters Gardens and Proven Winners identify the exact cultivar and its U.S. patent, PP25886. ## Landscape Use Plant it in sunny mixed borders, pollinator gardens, or containers, where the compact mound can sit among grasses and other drought-adapted perennials. The fragrant flowers and foliage attract butterflies and hummingbirds; the flowers also suit cutting. Mature plants are typically 20–24 inches tall and 26–32 inches wide, with flowering from midsummer into early fall. ## Siting and Soil Choose full sun and soil with excellent drainage. It tolerates dry soil after establishment, but new plants need regular water while roots develop. Walters lists USDA zones 5–9, while Proven Winners and Burpee list 6–9; hardiness ratings vary by source and climate. ## Maintenance Remove old stems in early spring as new growth begins. If desired, cut back faded flower stems to tidy the clump; avoid leaving the plant in persistently wet soil, especially over winter.
