About Sunrise™ Blue - Agastache

Sunrise™ Blue is a Green Fuse Botanicals selection in the Sunrise Agastache series, represented in its plant patent by cultivar code ‘ASUBL01-0’. It forms a compact, freely branching mound with aromatic leaves and dense spikes of violet to lilac-blue tubular flowers. The series is sold for perennial borders as well as patio containers, and this color form was evaluated in Penn State’s flower trials. ## Garden Use and Conditions Penn State recorded a height of 21 inches and width of 26 inches in a sun-container trial. This is a trial measurement, so allow room for a compact but branching mound. Choose full sun and freely draining soil. The breeder recommends watering thoroughly, then allowing the growing medium to dry rather than keeping it wet. Use it in a mixed border or patio planter. Agastache is in the mint family, Lamiaceae, and its flower spikes suit pollinator plantings. ## Flowering and Identity The exact-cultivar patent states flowering from early spring through late summer. Penn State’s 2018 trial evaluated flower display from July through September 4, including an observation in bloom on September 4. “Sunrise™ Blue” is the commercial color name; the cultivar code is the precise patent identity. Patent **USPP32376P2**, granted October 20, 2020, names ‘ASUBL01-0’. [Green Fuse Botanicals’ [Sunrise series page](https://green-fuse.com/new/agastache-sunrise/) and [culture sheet](https://green-fuse.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Agastache-Sunrise%C2%AE.pdf) provide series identity and growing guidance; [Penn State’s trial record](https://agsci.psu.edu/flower-trials/Plant-Name/Agastache-Sunrise-Blue) documents its violet flowers and trial performance. ## Maintenance Water as new roots establish. Afterward, irrigate when soil has dried; avoid persistently wet conditions, especially in cool weather. Trim spent spikes only if a tidier mound is wanted.
