Sunrise™ Red Improved Hyssop

Sunrise™ Red Improved is an upright, clumping Agastache with coral-red flower spikes and fragrant gray-green foliage. It belongs to the Sunrise™ series from Green Fuse Botanicals, which supplies the series crop guidance; Penn State's 2018 trial evaluated the red selection in a full-sun container display. ## Flowers and garden role The long flowering display runs from early summer into early fall, bringing color and nectar for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The plant works in mixed borders and containers, and its sturdy flower spikes can be cut for arrangements. Penn State measured a 27-inch height and 26-inch width in its container trial; retail garden references give a more compact typical size of about 24 by 18 inches, so use the latter as a practical landscape estimate rather than treating the trial container measurement as a universal mature size. ## Siting Plant in full sun and average, moisture-retentive but freely draining soil. Green Fuse recommends letting the mix dry between irrigations and warns against keeping roots consistently wet, which can cause rot. Established plants tolerate some dry soil, while prolonged drought and container conditions may require more frequent watering. ## Maintenance Water regularly during establishment, then adjust for rainfall and heat. Remove faded flower spikes to keep the clump tidy and encourage continued flowering.
