About Cream Spike Agave

Agave applanata, known as the Gray Agave, forms a striking, usually solitary rosette of stiff, silvery-blue to gray-green leaves. Its foliage is distinguished by sharp, dark marginal teeth and a long terminal spine, often displaying unique bud imprints. Native to Mexican highlands, it thrives in full sun to part shade and well-drained, rocky soils. This drought-tolerant succulent is prized for its architectural form in xeriscapes and was historically used for its strong fibers.
