About Cabbage Head Agave

Agave parrasana, known as the Cabbage Head Agave, is a slow-growing succulent from Mexico. It forms a tight, symmetrical rosette of thick, blue-grey leaves with red-to-brown thorns. Reaching about 60 cm in height and width, its compact, artichoke-like form makes it ideal for rock gardens or containers. This hardy species tolerates frost and prefers well-drained soil in full sun or light shade. It is monocarpic, producing a spectacular flower spike up to 6 meters tall at maturity.
