Hedgehog Agave

Agave stricta, native to Southern Mexico, is a striking evergreen succulent known for its dense, symmetrical rosettes of narrow, spine-tipped leaves. Unlike many agaves, this species is polycarpic and produces numerous offsets, eventually forming large, pincushion-like colonies. Its dark green foliage often takes on a reddish hue in intense summer heat. Ideal for xeriscaping and rock gardens, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, requiring minimal water once established.
