About McKelvey's century plant

Agave univittata, the thorn-crested century plant, is a hardy evergreen succulent forming architectural rosettes of stiff, lance-shaped leaves. Its foliage is distinguished by a dark green color accented with a pale green mid-stripe and wavy, white-toothed margins. Native to rocky terrains, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, reaching up to two feet in height. Ideal for rock gardens or containers, this drought-tolerant species produces offsets and a dramatic flower stalk.
