About Aguilera™ Violet Ageratum

Aguilera™ Violet is a compact, mounded selection of *Ageratum houstonianum* bred and marketed by Danziger. It forms a tidy, well-branched mound covered with fluffy violet flower clusters, adding close-up color to borders, patio pots and mixed containers. ## Cultivar and landscape use Danziger lists the variety at about 10–12 in tall and wide, with medium growth intensity, abundant flowers and an early flowering start. Its location photographs show flowering plants in June, July and October in European trials, so bloom timing will vary with climate and planting date. The [Danziger variety profile](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/aguilera-violet/) identifies Aguilera™ Violet within the AGUILERA™ series and notes pollinator attraction and heat tolerance. [Lucas Greenhouses](https://www.lucasgreenhouses.com/plant/Ageratum-houstonianum-Aguilera-Violet) independently lists violet flowers, the same mature size and Danziger as breeder. ## Siting Grow in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil. Use it as a low flowering edge, container filler or repeated seasonal bedding plant. This is commonly grown as a warm-season annual; protect it from frost and adjust irrigation so the root zone stays evenly moist without becoming waterlogged. ## Maintenance Keep plants watered during active growth and remove damaged stems as needed. The compact, controlled habit usually needs little shaping; remove faded clusters if a tidier display is preferred.
