About Chocolate Chip Ajuga Plant

Ajuga reptans 'Valfredda', commonly known as Chocolate Chip, is a diminutive, mat-forming groundcover prized for its extremely dwarf habit. It features tiny, narrow, oval leaves that display a rich chocolate-purple hue with burgundy highlights. In spring, short spikes of vibrant blue-violet flowers emerge, creating a striking contrast against the dark foliage. This hardy perennial thrives in moist, well-drained soils in sun to part shade and is ideal for rock gardens, containers, or small-scale edging. It is also deer and rabbit resistant.
