About Spotlight Radiant Rose Hollyhock

Spotlight Radiant Rose is a tall hollyhock with single rose-pink flowers on upright stems. It brings summer height to the back of a sunny border and can also be grown for cut stems; the Spotlight series was bred by Jelitto and is sold as perennial hollyhocks. ## Garden use and season The exact-cultivar listing from [Roots & Rhizomes](https://www.rootsrhizomes.com/product/RA10114/101) identifies rose-pink flowers, summer bloom, full sun, and a 5–6 ft height, and credits the German perennial specialist Jelitto with developing the series. [Vanstone Nurseries](https://vanstoneplants.com/plants/P-AL%20RSR/) lists pink flowers in July–September and confirms the cultivar’s Spotlight identity. The stored height and spread are kept because reported values vary across suppliers. NC State Extension gives broader species context: hollyhocks have large flowers on tall spikes, and work well in groups, cottage gardens, and borders. ## Siting and care Use a sunny, well-drained position with adequate airflow. Tall stems may be vulnerable to wind, and lower foliage can develop rust or other leaf diseases. Hollyhocks can self-seed, so decide whether to remove spent stems or leave seed heads. ## Maintenance Keep new plants watered while they establish, then water in extended dry periods. Stake stems if the site is exposed, remove badly diseased leaves, and cut back spent flower stems after the show. Leave some seed to encourage replacements.
