Spring Celebrities White Hollyhock

Alcea rosea ‘Spring Celebrities White’ is a compact, short-lived hollyhock with upright spikes of white double flowers in summer. Its smaller scale suits sunny borders, cottage gardens, and containers where a traditional hollyhock would be too tall. ## Flowers and form Syngenta Flowers lists Spring Celebrities White in the Spring Celebrities series, with an upright habit and an approximately 80 cm garden height. The [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/344133/alcea-rosea-spring-celebrities-white-spring-celebrities-series-d/details) describes white double flowers in summer and a mature height range of 0.5–1 m. Published sizes vary with growing conditions. ## Siting Grow in full sun in moderately fertile, well-drained soil. The RHS notes exposed plants may need support. Syngenta describes the flower form as semi-double to double and notes a long flowering period. No patent information was verified for this cultivar. ## Maintenance Remove dead foliage after flowering. Hollyhocks can be susceptible to rust, so inspect foliage and remove affected debris.
