About Dwarf Lady's Mantle

Alchemilla erythropoda, or dwarf lady’s mantle, is a compact, clump-forming perennial with rounded gray-green leaves and sprays of yellow-green flowers. Its low mound works along a path edge, in a rock garden, at the front of a border, or in a container. ## Foliage and flowers The [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/26453/alchemilla-erythropoda/details) describes softly hairy, toothed leaves and small yellow-green flowers, with the plant forming a clump about 15 cm tall. The Chicago Botanic Garden reports chartreuse blooms from late spring through summer. The leaves catch and bead water, adding detail after rain. ## Siting Grow in full sun or partial shade in soil that retains some moisture but drains freely. RHS says it tolerates varied soil types where some moisture is available. Ashridge Nurseries gives an approximate 45 cm spread; water during dry periods to maintain moisture and avoid waterlogged winter soil. ## Maintenance After flowering, shear back untidy flower stems and foliage to encourage fresh growth. Remove faded flower heads if you want to limit self-seeding; otherwise, seedlings can be moved or shared.
