About Thriller Lady's Mantle

Alchemilla mollis ‘Thriller’ is a clump-forming perennial with a mound of soft green, scallop-edged leaves and sprays of tiny yellow-green flowers. The [RHS cultivar profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/152723/alchemilla-mollis-thriller/details) gives a mature height and spread of about 60 cm and notes flowering from summer into autumn. ## Foliage and flowers The rounded leaves have a lightly felted surface, and the spreading flower sprays rise above the foliage. Wisconsin Extension describes the species’ pleated, softly hairy leaves, yellow to chartreuse flowers, and the way leaf hairs catch water droplets after rain ([Wisconsin Horticulture](https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/ladys-mantle-alchemilla-mollis/)). ## Siting Grow in full sun or partial shade in soil that retains some moisture. The RHS says the cultivar tolerates a range of soil types where some moisture is available. Wisconsin Extension cautions that A. mollis is not drought tolerant, so water during dry periods. ## Maintenance Shear untidy flowers and foliage after flowering to encourage fresh growth. Divide established clumps in spring or autumn if propagation is desired.
