Palm (Allagoptera)

The Allagoptera genus, including the Seashore Palm, is a group of resilient palms native to South America. These plants are distinguished by their subterranean trunks and pinnate, feather-like fronds that emerge directly from the ground in a swirling, multi-planar fashion. The foliage often displays a bicolor effect, with deep green tops and silvery-white undersides. Extremely salt-tolerant and wind-resistant, they are perfect for coastal dunes, thriving in sandy soils and full sun while providing edible, coconut-like fruits.
