Create design onlineAbout Giga White Alyssum
Giga White is a vigorous sweet alyssum with fluffy clusters of fragrant white flowers and a spreading, trailing habit. Benary identifies it as a tetraploid selection suited to packs, pots, hanging baskets, and border groundcover.
## Landscape Use
The [Benary cultivar page](https://www.benary.com/products/lobularia-maritima-giga/giga-white-lm0201uc) presents Giga White as a flexible white-flowered selection, while Ball Horticultural describes larger blooms and more vigor than Wonderland types. Its stems can soften the edge of a container or fill gaps at the front of a border. Sources differ on mature height, so plan for a low, spreading plant rather than relying on one precise height.
## Growing Conditions
Grow in sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. Sweet alyssum favors cool growing conditions, but Ball reports that Giga White can continue flowering through heat when watered regularly. This tolerance depends on moisture and does not mean the plant should sit in wet soil. Small flowers can attract bees and butterflies; bloom timing varies with climate and planting date. [UW–Madison Extension](https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/sweet-alyssum-lobularia-maritima/) provides broader species guidance.
## Maintenance
Keep newly planted alyssum evenly moist, then water established plants during dry weather and more often in containers. Lightly shear if flowering becomes sparse or stems stretch; avoid overwatering and remove the plant when its seasonal display ends.
