About Silver Beach Burrobrush

Ambrosia chamissonis is a sprawling perennial herb native to the sandy coastlines of North America. It features a low-growing, decumbent habit, often reaching widths of over three meters. Its most distinctive feature is the woolly, silver-green foliage that provides exceptional salt and wind tolerance. This monoecious plant produces greenish flower spikes in summer, followed by spiny brown burs. Ideal for bank stabilization and dune restoration, it thrives in full sun and sandy soils.
