Create design onlineAbout Anemone SATIN DOLL™ 'Rosé'
SATIN DOLL™ ‘Rosé’ is a compact, reduced-running anemone with vivid rose-pink and carmine flowers held above glossy green foliage. Its late-season flowering and small footprint suit the front of a border, a container, or a limited area where taller Japanese anemones would be too large.
## Form and placement
The breeder, [TERRA NOVA® Nurseries](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/anemone-satin-doll-rose/), lists foliage at about 10 inches tall and 16 inches wide, with flowering stems to about 14 inches. [Monrovia](https://www.monrovia.com/satin-dolltm-rose-anemone.html) gives a similar compact range. The breeder describes the flowers as two-toned bright rose-pink and carmine. The plant is suited to full sun or part shade and USDA zones 4–9. A moist but well-drained site is a sensible target; avoid waterlogged soil. TERRA NOVA® labels the U.S. patent status PPAF (patent applied for); no issued patent number or date is shown.
## Seasonal use
The breeder lists bloom from July through October, spanning summer into fall. The short stature works at the front of mixed perennial borders and in containers; grouped plants can also make a low flowering ground layer. Keep its modest spread in mind when spacing it, even though it runs less than many anemones.
## Maintenance
Water regularly while plants establish and during extended dry spells, allowing excess water to drain. Remove tired foliage at the end of the growing season if a clean winter bed is preferred. Avoid disturbing established crowns unnecessarily; divide only when plants need renewal or propagation.
