## Form and placement
[Proven Winners lists a mature height of 18–30 inches and a spread of 12–18 inches](https://www.provenwinners.com/p/11041). The cultivar’s upright, freely branching stems suit the middle of a border, a mass planting, or the thriller position in a large container. The flowers also make useful cut stems. The registered cultivar is ‘ANBLU140’; U.S. Plant Patent 31,179 was granted December 3, 2019.
## Siting
Plant in [full sun after temperatures warm in spring](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/angelonia-angustifolia/). Angelonia prefers fertile soil with good drainage and even moisture while establishing. Once established, this cultivar is [described as drought tolerant](https://www.provenwinners.com/p/11041), but flowering plants still benefit from irrigation during extended dry weather. It is generally grown as an annual outside frost-free climates.
## Maintenance
Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings rather than keeping it waterlogged. A modest application of compost or fertilizer supports flowering; avoid excess fertilizer that promotes leaves at the expense of blooms. The cultivar is self-cleaning, so routine deadheading is not needed. Remove damaged growth as necessary.
