Alonia™ Bicolor Violet is a compact Angelonia in Danziger’s ALONIA™ series, with upright spikes of violet and white flowers. The breeder describes it as early flowering, heat tolerant, and suitable for both pots and landscape plantings.
## Flowers and Landscape Use
The plant forms a neat, upright accent for sunny borders, repeated groups, and mixed containers. Danziger lists mature dimensions of 10–14 inches tall by 12–14 inches wide. Angelonia’s snapdragon-like flowers commonly continue through summer and into fall in warm weather; NC State Extension describes the species as a long-blooming summer plant. ## Siting
Grow in full sun for best flowering in fertile soil that stays evenly moist but drains freely. Angelonia tolerates summer heat and humidity; in cooler regions it is usually planted as a warm-season annual, while mild climates may support perennial growth.
## Maintenance
Water during establishment and prolonged dry spells. NC State notes that routine deadheading is unnecessary. Watch for aphids and powdery mildew, especially where airflow is limited.
