About Serena® Rose Angelonia

Serena® Rose is a warm-season angelonia with rose-pink flower spikes and a compact, well-branched form. PanAmerican Seed lists it in the Serena® F1 series, which is used in sunny borders, landscape beds, and mixed containers for extended color. ## Landscape use Use it as a mid-height flowering accent or repeat it along a border; it also suits a sunny mixed planter. The [PanAmerican Seed profile]() lists a mature height of 16–20 inches and width of 12–14 inches, with a columnar, mounded habit. [Greenleaf Nursery](https://www.greenleafnursery.com/plant/Angelonia-Angelonia-angustifolia-PAS1180775) confirms the cultivar code PAS1180775 and describes its flowers as rose-pink. ## Seasonal interest and siting PanAmerican Seed lists flowering from late spring through summer and late summer. Site in full sun in moist, well-drained soil. [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/angelonia-angustifolia/) recommends fertile soil with good drainage and notes the species’ tolerance for summer heat and humidity. Water consistently while roots establish; established angelonia can tolerate dry spells, particularly where mulch and organic matter help the soil retain moisture, according to [UF/IFAS](https://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/plants/ornamentals/angelonia/). ## Maintenance [Ball Seed's cultivar record]() lists Serena Rose as heat tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant, drought tolerant, and low maintenance. Deadheading is generally unnecessary for angelonia; remove damaged stems only if needed to tidy the planting. In cold-winter areas, grow it as an annual rather than relying on it to overwinter outdoors.
