About Serenita® Lavender Angelonia

Serenita® Lavender is a compact, mounded angelonia with lavender flower spikes and a shorter profile than the Serena® series. [PanAmerican Seed]() lists this F1 seed variety for warm-season landscape beds, borders, and containers, particularly where a manageable plant is useful. ## Landscape use Use it at the front or middle of a sunny border, in repeated groups, or as a flowering container component. PanAmerican Seed lists the mature plant at 12–14 inches tall and wide, with flowers from late spring through late summer. Its Serenita series is promoted for shorter, more manageable growth and performance in very hot, humid night conditions. ## Seasonal interest and siting Provide full sun and moist, fertile soil that drains well. Angelonia tolerates summer heat and humidity; [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/angelonia-angustifolia/) also notes its long summer bloom and suitability for borders and containers. Water during establishment. Established plants can handle dry spells better where soil contains organic matter and is mulched, according to [UF/IFAS](https://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/plants/ornamentals/angelonia/). In colder climates, treat it as an annual. ## Maintenance [Ball Seed's cultivar record]() describes Serenita Lavender as requiring very little maintenance and as resistant to deer and rabbits. Angelonia does not need routine deadheading. Keep the site well drained and check for aphids or powdery mildew if foliage becomes crowded or stays damp.
