Create design onlineAbout Guardian Angel™ Berry Sparkler Angelonia
Guardian Angel™ Berry Sparkler is a vigorous upright Angelonia with large pink-and-purple flowers set against glossy, dark green leaves. Ball FloraPlant identifies its cultivar denomination as ‘Balguaraberk’ and describes Guardian Angel as about 30% taller and more vigorous than Archangel.
## Landscape role and season
Ball lists Berry Sparkler at 16–18 inches tall and 10–12 inches wide, with sturdy upright stems suited to the back of a border or as a thriller in mixed containers. The large flowers and vertical form provide summer color in heat-loving beds and combinations. This modern brand selection is separate from similarly named AngelMist® Spreading Berry Sparkler.
## Growing conditions
Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. Ball describes Guardian Angel as thriving in extreme heat and humidity; Angelonia is generally grown as a warm-season annual in frost-prone regions. Established plants tolerate some dry periods, although containers need frequent moisture checks during hot weather. [Ball FloraPlant](https://www.ballfloraplant.com/Products/Details/?phid=004910044040383) provides the exact cultivar name and dimensions; [NCSU Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/angelonia-angustifolia/) and [UF/IFAS Extension](https://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/plants/ornamentals/angelonia/) provide species-level cultivation guidance.
## Maintenance
Water consistently while plants establish and during prolonged dry spells. In-ground Angelonia is generally low maintenance and typically does not need deadheading or staking. Remove damaged or untidy stems as needed. Avoid overfertilizing, which can encourage foliage at the expense of flowers.
