Big Roo® Yellow is a large kangaroo paw with fuzzy, tubular flowers in bright yellow tones on tall stems above narrow green leaves. The upright flowering stems make a visible accent in sunny beds and large containers; leave room for the clump and its flowering display.
## Landscape Use
GreenFuse’s [botanical catalog](https://green-fuse.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/GreenFuse-Botanical_Catalog-2015.pdf) identifies Big Roo as a large landscape/accent series with mature flowering height of 48–60 inches. A [GreenFuse-attributed grower catalog](https://www.gulleygreenhouse.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Gulley-Greenhouse-Young-Plant-Catalog-2021-22.pdf) lists Yellow as a bright sunshine selection and gives shared series dimensions of 48–60 inches tall by 24–36 inches wide. The grower catalog gives a 24–36-inch series spread; leave room around each clump because garden spread varies with site and culture. The [Australian National Botanic Gardens guide](https://anbg.gov.au/anigozanthos/index.html) notes that kangaroo paws are good cut flowers and that long stalks rise above surrounding vegetation.
## Seasonal Interest
Anigozanthos generally flowers over spring and summer, with exact timing shaped by local conditions. The Yellow selection contributes warm color and a distinctive furry flower texture; its stems can add height above a lower planting.
## Siting
Plant in a sunny position with soil that drains freely. Provide regular water during establishment and active growth, and avoid keeping the crown wet in cool weather. In damp climates, watch for ink disease, which can cause dark blotches on leaves; slugs and snails may damage young plants.
## Maintenance
Remove spent flower stems and damaged leaves as needed. Good drainage and airflow help keep foliage healthy, and wet debris should not collect around the crown.
