About Kanga® Cherry - Anigozanthos

Kanga® Cherry is an evergreen kangaroo paw with fuzzy, cherry-red tubular flowers above upright, sword-like foliage. Monrovia lists the cultivar at 12–18 inches tall and wide, while the UC Davis Arboretum inventory describes plants to about 2 feet, supporting its use in compact sunny plantings. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun and lean, freely draining soil. Water regularly during establishment; Monrovia says established plants need only occasional watering and that summer water supports flowering. Avoid soggy soil. Monrovia lists USDA hardiness zones 9–11. ## Seasonal Interest The cultivar flowers from spring through fall, providing a long display of red blooms. Its compact size works well in borders and containers, and Monrovia describes the stems as useful for long-lasting cut flowers. ## Maintenance Remove spent flower stems at the base and clear faded foliage when needed.
