About Kanga® Pink - Anigozanthos

Kanga Pink is a compact kangaroo paw with fuzzy, bright pink tubular flowers above an upright clump of narrow green leaves. Its long spring-to-fall display suits sunny borders and containers, and the flowering stems also work well in cut arrangements. ## Form and placement The [Monrovia cultivar profile](https://www.monrovia.com/kanga-pink-kangaroo-paw.html) gives foliage height of 12–14 inches and flower stalks of 20–24 inches, with USDA zones 9–11. The [UC Davis Arboretum plant list](https://arboretum.ucdavis.edu/sites/g/files/dgvnsk1546/files/inline-files/April_8_2021_Final_Availability%20%281%29.pdf) likewise describes Kanga Pink as an evergreen perennial with pink flowers and a height to 2 feet. The upright, sword-shaped foliage and fuzzy stems add texture among lower border plants; use a container with free drainage where winters are colder. ## Siting and water Give it full sun or light afternoon shade and sharply drained sandy-to-loamy soil. Monrovia recommends regular watering during the first growing season, then less frequent irrigation; summer water supports flowering, though established plants tolerate some dry periods. Avoid persistently soggy soil. ## Maintenance After flowering, cut spent flower stems back at the base and remove old foliage as needed. The flower hairs can irritate sensitive skin or eyes, so use gloves and eye protection while trimming.
