About Madame Butterfly™ Mix Antirrhinum

Madame Butterfly™ Mix is an F1 Antirrhinum majus snapdragon grown for upright spikes of ruffled, double azalea-type flowers in a multicolor range. Syngenta identifies the exact mix as product 70017984; Burpee lists bronze, ivory, pink, rose, red, and yellow among its flower colors. ## Flowers and placement The mix combines warm and cool colors for a varied display in beds and bouquets. Syngenta lists late-spring and summer flowering and gives a typical garden size of 24–30 inches tall by 14–16 inches wide. The tall flower spikes suit the back of a border and cut-flower arrangements. ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun or partial shade in moist, rich, well-drained soil. NC State Extension describes snapdragons as tender perennials commonly grown as annuals and notes their use in borders and cut-flower gardens. The species is bee-pollinated. ## Maintenance Water consistently through establishment and during dry spells, while keeping foliage as dry as practical. Avoid overhead watering; tall stems may need staking. Watch for rust and other fungal issues in damp, crowded conditions.
