About Maryland Plumblossom Snapdragon

Maryland Plumblossom is an upright snapdragon in [PanAmerican Seed’s Maryland cut-flower series](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/057800892004228/snapdragon-maryland-plumblossom/). Its cultivar name is used for a bicolor plum-pink and white flower selection; the breeder reports sturdy stems 39–60 inches long and recommends the series for cool-season, low-light production. ## Landscape use and seasonal interest The tall flower spikes suit cut arrangements and can add vertical color near the back of a flower bed. PanAmerican Seed groups this Group 1,2 selection with autumn, winter, and spring production programs. Outdoor bloom timing varies with planting date and local conditions. ## Size and siting The breeder reports 39–60 inches (about 3–5 feet) and an upright habit. Choose full sun where possible. [RHS species profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/69565/antirrhinum-majus/details) lists snapdragon for flower borders, beds, and cut flowers, and recommends a sunny position. ## Soil and water Plant in soil that drains freely while retaining some moisture. The RHS profile lists moist but well-drained conditions and sand, chalk, or loam; avoid leaving the roots in persistently waterlogged soil. ## Maintenance Remove faded flower spikes if you want to extend the flowering period. The RHS lists deadheading for this purpose and says routine pruning is not required. In protected production, follow the breeder’s crop guidance for the cool-season Maryland series.
