About Potomac™ Orange Snapdragon

Potomac™ Orange is an upright snapdragon selected by PanAmerican Seed for cut-flower production. The breeder identifies PAS3499 and reports 39–60-inch stem lengths for greenhouse or high-tunnel crops. ## Flowering and cutting The [exact PanAmerican cultivar profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/057801176003789/snapdragon-potomac-orange/) lists late spring, summer, and late summer flowering and describes tall, strong stems with long spikes. It recommends high light, long days, and warm temperatures for the Potomac crop. The 39–60-inch figure is stem length, not a garden spread estimate. ## Siting and soil The breeder lists sun exposure and upright habit. For snapdragons generally, [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/antirrhinum-majus/common-name/common-snapdragon/) recommends full sun to part shade and moist, rich, well-drained soil. It notes low drought tolerance and reduced performance in summer heat; these are species-level observations rather than cultivar-specific limits. ## Maintenance Water near the soil line and avoid overhead irrigation. Stake tall plants where needed and watch for rust and other leaf diseases in humid weather.
