About Colorado Blue Columbine

Aquilegia caerulea, the Rocky Mountain columbine, is a bushy, clump-forming perennial native to high elevations in the western United States. It features large, upward-facing, bicolored flowers with sky-blue sepals and white petals, rising above attractive, fern-like, medium green foliage. This species thrives in moist, well-drained soils and prefers full sun to partial shade. It is an excellent choice for borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator beds, as it is highly attractive to hummingbirds.
