Create design onlineAbout Spring Magic Pink and White Columbine
Spring Magic ‘Pink and White’ is a compact, early-flowering columbine with two-tone spurred flowers. Benary lists Pink & White as one of the color forms in its Spring Magic F1 series, whose full, rounded plants carry dense foliage rosettes. At about 14 inches tall, this selection suits the front or middle of a mixed border and spring containers where its bicolor flowers can be appreciated.
## Site and seasonal use
The [Benary culture guide](https://wt.ballhort.com/DisplayProductInformation/106809/Aquilegia%20hybrida%20F1%20Spring%20MagicR.pdf) identifies the Pink & White color form, describes Spring Magic as an early-spring flowering perennial, and recommends it for perennial beds, borders, spring bedding, and mixed containers. For this hybrid series, Benary recommends sun and provides a 3–8 hardiness range; the live catalog already records zone 3, so the existing zone values are retained pending a cultivar-specific local range. For routine garden care, [RHS guidance for Aquilegia](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/aquilegia/growing-guide) recommends fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
## Maintenance
Water through establishment and during dry weather, but allow excess water to drain away. Deadhead faded flowers to keep the clump neat and possibly extend the display. Allow a few seed heads to mature if you want seedlings; seed-grown plants may vary from the parent cultivar.
