Aquilegia vulgaris 'Lime Sorbet' is a short-lived perennial with double, spurless pompon flowers that open from pale green buds in greenish-white tones and fade toward white. The divided blue-green leaves form a clump beneath the blooms. Height reports range from about 60 to 90 cm, with spread varying by source and growing conditions.
## Flowers and garden use
The light flowers brighten cottage borders, wildlife gardens, and cut-flower plantings. It flowers in late spring and early summer. A 2021 trial-garden list identifies Lime Sorbet as a Takii Europe perennial; it does not provide cultivar care or breeding claims.
## Siting and soil
Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile soil that remains moist but drains freely. Columbines can self-seed, and seedlings may differ from the parent. Avoid waterlogged ground and take care when dividing established plants because root disturbance can slow recovery.
## Maintenance
Deadhead regularly to encourage additional flowers and limit self-seeding, or leave a few stems if seed is wanted. Cut back declining foliage after flowering to make room for fresh growth.
