This naturally occurring hybrid from Colorado's Uncompahgre Plateau features a dense, mounded growth habit, reaching 1 to 2 feet tall and spreading up to 5 feet wide. Its evergreen foliage consists of matte green leaves that transition to a vibrant hue in winter, complemented by exfoliating maroon bark on mature specimens. In spring, clusters of waxy, pink, urn-shaped flowers appear, followed by russet red berries. It thrives in well-drained soil and is exceptionally drought-tolerant once established.
