About MAJEC™ Fuchsia - Arctotis X hybrida

MAJEC™ Fuchsia is an African daisy selection with saturated fuchsia flowers and a dark central eye. It forms a low mound of lobed gray-green foliage and can flower continuously from spring until frost in favorable conditions, according to [Urban Tree Farm Nursery](https://www.urbantreefarm.com/product/arctotis-majec-fuchsia/). ## Appearance and placement The nursery lists a mature size of 6–12 inches tall by 24–36 inches wide and describes the plant as evergreen. Its low clump suits a sunny bed edge or a well-drained container, where the bright daisies can be seen at close range. The breeder includes Fuchsia in the rounded, silver-leaved MAJEC series, which it describes as flowering through the growing season. ## Growing conditions Choose full sun and soil that drains freely. Urban Tree Farm recommends moderate water in well-drained soil after establishment. NC State Extension’s broader Arctotis profile lists the genus for USDA zones 9a–11b; that range is general guidance, and local winter conditions affect whether this tender perennial returns. ## Maintenance Remove spent flowers regularly to keep the plant neat and support continued display. Watch for aphids, spider mites, and leaf-mining insects, and prevent water from collecting around the roots. The [RHS Arctotis × hybrida guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/26895/arctotis-x-hybrida-hort-wine/details) also recommends deadheading for the hybrid group.
