About MAJEC™ Red-Yellow - Arctotis X hybrida

MAJEC™ Red-Yellow is a compact African daisy with yellow petals surrounding a red center. Its single flowers stand above soft silver foliage on a rounded mound. [Emerisa Gardens](https://www.emerisa.com/plant/arcrey4/arctotis-x-hybrida-majec-red-yellow) lists spring-to-summer bloom and a mature size of 6–12 inches tall by 2–3 feet wide. ## Appearance and placement Use Red-Yellow along a sunny border edge or in a container with good drainage. The broad, low form can also soften the front of a rock garden. The exact nursery listing describes evergreen foliage and heat tolerance; Green Fuse describes the MAJEC series as rounded, silver-leaved, and floriferous through the growing season. ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun and freely draining soil, preferably sandy or rocky. The nursery lists moderate to dry watering. Water during establishment, then allow the soil to dry somewhat between irrigations; avoid waterlogged sites. NC State Extension gives general Arctotis guidance for sunny, well-drained conditions and notes that the genus tolerates drought once established. ## Maintenance Remove faded daisies to keep the plant tidy and prolong its display. Check for aphids, spider mites, and leaf miners, and maintain good drainage around the roots. Arctotis is best treated as seasonal color in regions where winter cold prevents it from returning.
