Sandwort

Arenaria montana 'Avalanche' is a vigorous, mat-forming evergreen perennial that creates a dense carpet of small, lance-shaped, grey-green foliage. In late spring and early summer, it is completely transformed by a profusion of large, pure white, star-shaped flowers with delicate yellow centers. This low-maintenance groundcover thrives in poor, well-drained sandy soils and prefers full sun to partial shade. It is an ideal choice for rock gardens, alpine troughs, or cascading over stone walls.
